“The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry”
I am not sure if I felt disappointed or relieved. I certainly didn’t feel accomplished, although I should have. I had ridden many kilometres, at times in difficult conditions, without seeing a single person for days at a time. The decision wasn’t completely mine, or at least I console myself with that thought, the wettest winter in decades had made parts of the trail impassable, at least that was what I was told.
I jumped on a bus and came home with my tail firmly wedged between my legs, happy that no one took it upon themselves to point out what was painfully obvious to me, I had failed. However, I have been blessed with the ability to see the positives in any situation and I figure that one day I will ride The Munda Biddi, I won’t let it defeat me, now just wasn’t my time.
So until the next adventure, and yes there will be another adventure.
